Wrestling

Kolton started wrestling this season. This is a very big decision for him because he is a very claustrophobic kid. He has wrestled in two tournaments already. The first was for fun and he won his first match and then lost his second and third. He was so concerned about why they would want to choke him when they had him pinned. He just wrestled in his second tournament and took 2nd! He won his first two matches and lost his third by points. We are so proud of his hard work.

Spelling Bee

Hannah made it in to her school's Spelling Bee this year. She was so worried the night before. She kept saying "Mom what if I miss my word?" I told her Hannah its a spelling bee if you miss it well you miss it. All you are going to do is go sit down. There is no reason to be embarrassed. The next day she came home and to her surprise was first in her class! They took the top 3 out of each class to compete against each other. She ended up missing her first word which was chocolate. We are still proud of her for making it that far. She is a good student and has done well.

Tony and Em came to visit us. It was so much fun to have them here. We have no family up here in Idaho so its always nice to have visitors. One day while they were here everyone went out sledding.

Christmas Day

Christmas Eve we decorated a ginger bread house, had a nice dinner and opened our pj's. We had a friend over who is from Israel. She worked in the mall here and just new Christmas as everyone running around crazy shopping. She wanted to understand the real meaning of Christmas. It was nice to remember the real reason we celebrate Christmas and to be able to share that with someone who had no idea about it. Christmas day was a bit different because I had to be to work that morning at 5. We let the kids stay up until 11:30 the night before hoping they would sleep in. Luckily they slept in until about 11 and I was home by 11:45. It was different then the usual tradition but we made it work. Mylee's favorite part about her stocking was the orange.

Christmas Party

We drove down to Vegas for our family Christmas parties. Ty's family has a tradition where Santa comes and delivers each child a gift. We start by singing songs and then each kid gets to sit on Santa's lap and get there presents. It is always a lot of fun and it was nice to get to see family this year. My camera had died by the time we had my families party so I have no pictures.

Ty always grew up with a real tree and I always grew up with a fake tree for Christmas. Since we have been married we have had a real tree. This year my Dad was in town and we decided we would go cut a tree down. He thought we were going to go to a tree farm and cut one ourselves. Instead we went up into the mountains with our tree permit and went hunting for a tree. It was a lot longer than usual because we had so much snow. The tree's always look a lot different in the forest then they do when you get them home. Let's just say I was almost in tears the night we decorated it because it was such a charlie brown tree. My dad told Ty the next day while they were out that they may just want to buy me a tree from a lot that was perfect.

Corn Maze

Here in Idaho they do Corn Mazes in the fall. They are a lot of fun. Donna and Kami came to visit and so we decided to go to one of them here in Kuna. We bought our passes to go through the maze and then found out it was 5 miles long we decided to do a few other things instead because the sun was already going down and we did not want to get lost in it in the dark.

Halloween 2010

I am usually very picky when it comes to Halloween costumes for my kids. I want them all to have a theme and match. I have deicded the last two years have been crazy with having a new baby and then moving this year. So the kids got to pick whatever they wanted to be. Kolton picked a UPS driver and then Trevor gave us the idea of making a "truck" for him. Hannah chose to be a tooth fairy and Mylee well she got to be a zebra. These were the cheapest costumes because we had everything for them already.

1st day of school

Today was the first day of school for Hannah and Kolton. Hannah is in 3rd grade and Kolton is Kindergarten. They both got up pretty easy and were soo excited to be going to school. Kolton told me "Mom I'm a big boy I can just walk up by myself". I told him I know but it's the first day of school Mom and Dad are walking you guys to your classes. I can't believe how grown up they are:( Kolton didn't shed a tear but had to give Dad an extra hug before he went into class. Of course I wore sunglasses so I could hide all of my tears.

Last day of Summer

So today was the last day of our Summer. We had a nice relaxing day with the kids. We got their backpacks out and packed, packed part of their lunches, picked out their clothes for tomorrow , measured them , fathers blessings and to top it all off had root beer floats. Hannah is 4'4'' and Kolton is 3'7.5''. They are both really excited for school tomorrow. Hannah had no time going to sleep and Kolton got caught sneaking cartoons in Grandma and Grandpa's room. Totally of the subject Ty just measured us and he is proud to say he is 5'7.125''. I'm laughing so hard right now he is soo proud.

Moving

I used to always think how could someone move every year, or they sure move a lot I could never do it. Thinking about ANOTHER move I am hoping it will be our last for a while... I thought I would document all the times we have moved in our marriage.
November 2004- Moved into our first Condo!!
December 2005- Moved to Kuna in Chris and Steph's house while our was being built.
March 2006- We moved into our house in Kuna.
June 2007- We moved into our Boise house.
July 2008- We moved to Bullhead AZ.
November 2009- We moved into my brothers house in Las Vegas.
December 2009- We moved into my parents house.
Sept 2010- We will be moving back to Kuna hopefully for a long time!

Butterfly Park

Today we met picked up Shaylie and met Aunt Tawni and Brson at the Butterfly Park. The kids had a lot of fun and liked the fact that they could play in the water or just run over to the park! Mylee loved the water even though it was a little cold.

I can't believe our little baby is 10 months old already! I snapped this picture this morning of her crazy hair! She has soo much hair I love it. She already has 5 teeth with the 6th one breaking through. We are soo lucky to have her in our lives. She is such a good baby and is happy all of the time as long as she has a full tummy.

When the kids and I arrived home Ty was soo excited to show us what he had done while we were gone! He wouldn't let us in the room until it was all layed out. He had done quite a bit of shopping! Sometimes I think he enjoys shopping more then me. We got soo spoiled! Clothes and a bunch of shoes!

Bear Lake

My friend Cheilah lives in Logan and invited us to meet her at Bear Lake. I have never been and I will have to say we will be going back next year! My kids absolutely loved it. It is sooo beautiful there. Thanks Chei for introducing us to it! We had a lot of fun.

Grandpa Stewart

It was so nice to see Grandpa Stewart. He just got out of the bath when we got there and was headed to lunch. The kids and I were headed to Bear Lake and my Mom said when we left all he wanted to do was take his ice cream and make sure we were ok. Kolton told me "let's pick g-pa up in our car and take him back to his golf course". It broke my heart because I miss the days riding around with him in his pt cruiser on the golf course. He loved the kids big blue eyes he kept saying.

Wyoming

While we are in Wyoming the kids love it because they get to run around crazy and I don't have to have my eye on them every second. The pool broke this year AGAIN right when we got there. That was a bummer. My kids begged to go over so we wen 3 times so I guess we could look at the water. It was 70 degrees and there was no chance they were getting in. They love to build forts on the golf cart. This year Kolton decided to take his nap out on it. The buffalo in this picture hangs at the restaurant. Everyday we ate there Kolton wanted to hear the story about "Ben". I told how Grampa had hunted him down until my Dad told the story how he raised him and it was his best friend. The kids loved it and called him Ben.

Wyoming Fair

Every year we spend about 2 weeks up in Wyoming for the Summer. This year we got to go when the fair was going on. It was a lot of fun. Every night we went out to dinner or to the fair I swear the storm would come on the minute we were getting in the car! We got rained out every night... My friend Cheilah came up with her daughter McKenna. It was so nice to see her and let the kids play together.

4th of July

We went with Ty's family to my parents cabin for the 4th. It was so nice to relax with no cell phones or tv! I love going up there and not having to worry about anything! We went frog hunting but I think it was still to cold for them. Hannah was the only one to catch not only one fish but TWO!! She was excited to show the boys up. We hiked, went to the ice caves and did a little four wheeling. On the way up we were told there was road construction between St. George and Cedar so we decided to go through Zions National Park. BAD IDEA! We left Vegas at 1 and got to the mountain at 7:30. It usually only takes 3.5 hours. The back road to the cabin we got to see a ton of deer. We even saw two babies nursing off there mom.

Circus

We went to the Circus with Ty's sisters and families. I have never seen a more entertaining 2.5 hour show. The kids were good and really enjoyed it. I have never been so I was thrilled. Mylee ended up sleeping through most of it so it was nice not to have to wrestle a baby the whole time!

Melting Pot

Ty and I used to always eat at Melting pot when we lived in Boise. If you have never been I suggest going sometime. It is a fondue restaurant. It is soo yummy. Ty decided he would surprise the kids and I and take us there after a movie! My camera was dying so we really didn't get any pictures. The kids had a lot of fun and keep asking to go back! To bad it's a little pricey or I think we would!

Kolton's Birthday

Kolton turned 5 this year and I have never done a big party for him yet so we decided this was the year! It worked out great because Natalie was going to do a circus themed party for Trent so we could just share the stuff. One of our Elders is a professional clown and was going to come and do balloon animals. He called that morning with the stomach flu so we hurried and called to try an find a clown. This lady decided to paint the kids faces completely!! It was such a pain getting this paint off and I think most the kids went to church the next day looking like they had eye make-up on! Most of the boys decided to be aliens.

Jim Butler Days

We went to Tonopah for Memorial Day weekend. We hadn't been there for about 3-4 years! It was Ty's 10 year reunion so we decided to head back. It was so nice to see family. They have whats called Jim Butler Days where there are all these mining events. The kids got to pan for gold, watch the parade and muck which they loved.

Arizona

We went on a quick trip down to Arizona with Ty's sister and husband. It was so nice to get away. My bro-inlaw's brother is a clubbie for the Mariners so we went to a spring training game. Ty was so excited he got a wind breaker of Ken Griffy Jr. It is only 1 of 2 issued to him. He joked now and calls it his Griffy whenever he wears it. My parents were in Scottsdale and so my Dad came along with us to the game! It was nice to spend time with family.

Hannah's Baptism

Hannah's baptism was such a great experience. I can't believe she is already 8. It was a bit stressful at first because they had double booked her baptism. Even with all the stress the spirit was sooo strong. As I was getting her dressed she started crying which then made me cry a ton. She told me she wasn't sad she just had a happy feeling. She ended up crying and crying until she was baptized by her dad. I am amazed and blessed every day to have such a wonderful daighter who sets such a good example for us. We love you Hannah and are happy that you made the decision to be baptized.

Easter

This year for Easter we went out to my bro-inlaw Shawn's parents house in Vaudeville for the weekend. We had such a great time. The kids died eggs, had an Easter egg hunt and got some good Easter baskets from the Easter bunny. Hannah decided she would sell her Easter candy for money. She sold about half and made about $8. That weekend the kids had saved up there money for a trip to Sea World. The day we were supposed to go had such nasty weather that we didn't end up going. The kids were totally bummed. We did go over to Medieval Times. It was a fun show and the kids had a blast! The night before Easter there was an earthquake. It's crazy I had never felt one like that before.

I LOVE Halloween. It is one of my favorite holidays because I get to dress the kids up. I am usually very picky on what my kids wear and they in past years had to coordinate. I know so stupid but that just me! This year it was a little different. I had just had Mylee and been in the middle of moving. The kids loved it because the got to pick whatever to wear. We went trunk or treating at my parents church and then headed over to Shawn and Tandi's to go around there
neighborhood. Mylee was just in a cute Halloween outfit, Kolton was a gorilla and Hannah was Little Mermaid.

Mylee Rayne Otteson

Mylee was born Oct 19, 2009. She weighed 8 lbs 4 oz and was 21.5 inches long. I started having contractions Sunday afternoon at home and decided to wait as long as I could before we went to the hospital. I alwys fear if I go to early they will send me home. We called my Mom around 10:30 and had her start driving from Vegas to watch our kids. Around 12:30 we dropped our kids off with my friend Mindie and headed to the hospital. When we got there I was dialated to a 4. Ty told the nurse I go pretty fast can we get the epidural. She was the only one on duty that night. She was a major pain. after she took her sweet time with my paperwork and called in another nurse I was dialated to a 9 and there was no way I was getting an epidural or any sort of medicine. I was not a happy campe and had to apologize to my mom for my language. She also failed to tell me my doc. was out of town until the next day so I was getting whoever was on call! We are soo happy we have Mylee in our family! She is such a joy to have around.

So here is my first official tummy pic. My wonderful sister insisted at the cabin that we take one of our belly's together. I am due Oct 22nd and Natalie is due Jan 24th.This pregnancy has been a little different then my others. Where we live you can't possibly go outside for any amount of time because it is so dang hot and well, there is NOTHING to do. I worked with the other two so I always had something to do. I am excited that she is almost here but a bit nervous being that we will be moving at the same time. Still not sure where or if we will have a job. Ty reminds me everyday not to stress just to know the most important thing is no matter what I have to pack! We have absolutely nothing ready for the baby and the time just keeps creepin by. Sooner then later she will be here and so will the move. I have had a lot of heart burn and seem to be carrying her low. I can't wait to see what she looks like. These last 5 weeks I know will be the longest of the whole pregnancy.

5 years!

5 years ago I married my best friend. I can't believe it has already been 5 years. At times it feels like it went by so fast and other times it feels like it has been an eternity. As I sit back and look at all we have been through and the trials we have faced in these short 5 years I am grateful for each one. I feel like we are closer then we have ever been and I LOVE it! Ty is such a hard worker and great supporter for our little family. I am soo lucky to have a man like him for me and our kids. He is so hands on with our kids and would give them his shirt of his back for anything. They have him wrapped around their little fingers. I can't wait in a few weeks we will bring our third little baby into this journey with us. My mother in-law is coming out to watch the kids so that we can have the weekend to spend together. It feels like we are really getting away on some great vacation but we are only 5 min away from the house across the river! I seriously can't wait to just have him and I time. I love you babe and thanks for all your support and love.

Snake in our closet!!

So the other night I was doing laundry and went in to get some hangers in our closet. My robe was on the floor so I hung it up and as I went to walk out saw this snake in our closet! I think I almost crapped my pants. It started to go behind my shoes so I called Ty to see when he would be home. Ya he was still 20 min away. He told me to stand guard and make sure it didn't get out. I was sitting on my vanity talking to him and the snake popped its head our between my pants! I ran and jumped on my bed saying about every swear word possible like it was really going to get me!lol I really didn't want my kids knowing in case of nightmares. Well needless to say Hannah came in to see what was going on and was like " Oh Mom I'll get it. You dont need to be scared". She insisted Kolton go get there creature house( A Styrofoam cooler) that she puts crickets or the lizard she caught the other day in. To bad she was bummed when my response was uhh NO! Needles to say Ty got home trashed my closet getting it. Right before he started to get it Kolton told him "Dad don't make me sh*t in my pants". Really it looked a lot bigger behind all my shoes. First Day of School

School started Early out here on 8/10. Hannah didn't have the greatest experience last year at this school so I was hoping that it wouldn't be a struggle for school this year. Lucky us she has an amazing teacher Miss Liska and absolutely loves school again! To bad we will only be here another 2 months. They have these lovely uniforms they have to wear(I hate). They have the option between a grey shirt and a bright yellow shirt. This is one of the things I'm looking forward when we move, no more uniforms. Demolition Derby

While we were in Wyoming they had a demolition derby. The kids and I have never been to one so we thought why not! My sister Natalie was just getting into town so she brought Trevor and came. It was a blast! They had the demo derby and two other events. One of the events was quite comical to watch. There was two people on the four wheeler and the back person had a balloon on their head and a foam sword that they would have to pop the other opponents balloons. The car the kids routed for ended up winning so they were very excited!

So the kids and I took off for 12 days to Wyoming. I have always gone since I was a little girl in the summers and have been back every year with my kids. This year was fun but we sure missed Ty being there. We broke the drive up there into two days. The first night we drove to Provo and then the next day met up with my sis-inlaw in Spanish Fork for Pioneer day parade. I don't think I have ever seen a longer parade! We drove into Montpelier, Id the next day to see my Grampa before we headed on over to the ranch. He really looked awesome but wish he could have been home with us. I took the kids golfing quite a bit. Hannah did very well she Double bogied a par 3 and was able to hit it over the pond on one hole. We went on bike ride/walks every night. The weather was sooo nice. The kids convinced Gramma to go on the bumper boats! Hannah told her " Come on Gramma didn't you know it's all about having fun". We decided that we would make the 11 hour trip back in one day and surprise Ty. I thought I was doing good on time and forgot to make a turn in Heber. Needles to say I went about 40 miles the wrong way before turning around. I was in full out tears 1 because I wanted to just get home and 2 because my gas light came on and I still had 30 miles to Heber. Luckily it we were going down the mountain so I through it in natural and some how made it back. We met Ty at work around 9. The kids were so excited to surprise him.

Lake

We took the kids out to the lake a few weekends ago and they HATED it! We went friday night and thought we would stay over. It's so nice out here I figured we would just sleep on the boat. Well a huge storm rolled in and we got eaten alive from the mosquitos. Ty and I pretty much didn't get any seep taking turns spraying he kids with repelent. Sat morning we went fishing for a while then let the kids get on the tube (bad idea). They ended up falling off because it was so choppy and Hannah and the tube went one way and Kolton went the opposite. Ty jumped in after Kolton because he was freaking out and left me with the boat! I have never driven or had any clue how to drive the boat. Needles to say we ended up staying out for a few more hours and packed up and headed home. Luckily it's only 5 min from where we live.

Birthdays!!

Since I am so behind I thought I would just post a few pics from Ty's and the kids brithdays. We didn't do any friend parties this year we just kept it low key at home. Ty has been working really long hours so the kids patiently waited all day to open their presents until Dad got home.( Their choice) Kolton had to wait till 9 I thought the 4 year old was gonna die!

Disneyland

We got the chance to go to Disneyland a while ago and had a blast!! My parents were able to come along for two of the three days which was fun for the kids. The weather was good not to hot or cold! The first day we were there it wasn't busy at all so we pretty much just walked on all the big rides with the kids. It was nice because then the rest the time we didn't have to worry about what we rode. Kolton was barely tall enough for the big kid rides but he went on them and they were his fav. Both of the kids favorite ride was Splash Mountain because Grampa got all the water in the front!

Easter

We had a great Easter this year. Saturday we had an Easter egg hunt with a few family's and then the husbands went golfing. That night we died our Easter eggs with Mindie and her family. On Sunday Hannah woke up around 6:30 asking to open her stuff and she had to wait until Kolton woke up. To bad he wasn't in a hurry she waited till 8:30. Poor girl.. After church we went over to Mindie's for Easter dinner and then went and rolled Easter eggs down the hill.

Phoenix Trip

While we were in Phoenix we had a nice relaxing time. We took the kids to the 3-d version of Monsters vs Aliens, read books at Barnes & Noble, went swimming and played a lot of tag at the hotel. The hotel was more like a condo and had a ton of grassy area(something we don't have where we live) so we took advantage and played a lot of tag with the kids. It was nice to get away.

My birthday was on a Wed. and Ty was going to be working in Vegas and I had the Relief Society b-day dinner so the kids thought we should celebrate the night before. I was setting up for the RS dinner and Ty had the kids. He has always been so good at letting them make me a cake. What are the odds that in the middle of setting up I have to go to Wal-Mart , at the exact minute I walk in Ty is walking out with the kids. Kolton could hardly keep the secret. I got home late and the kids ran out of there rooms screaming "SUPRISE WE MADE YOU A CAKE". So here are the pictures. It was really good. Kolton wasn't very happy when Ty shoved his face in it.

Diamond Rio concert!

Diamond Rio came out to Laughlin so we got to go see them in concert. We got to sit in the front row. It was a blast. There was this drunk guy sitting next to us that was sooo stinkin wierd. I wish I could of video taped his signature dance moves. They were "GREAT"

Hannah had Dr. Suess night where they could dress up like any one in the books. Hannah wanted to be Cindy Lou and Kolton Thing 1. Hannah ended up winning first place for her costume and got the Horton Hears a Who game.

The New Year!!

I love this saying!! It is so true and will be my motivation this year. Way to often I sit and say well if this was different then this could happen, If I could be like her I would be so happy, If only my house was clean... etc Well this year I am going to TRY to stop just thinking it and do it! My first goal is to run a half-marathon this year. I talked and talked about it last year and never ran more then 3 miles.(if any of you have advice please share it). Also I am going to try to keep my life and home more organized one day and one room at a time. Let this be your motivation to change or start those things that you have been wanting to!

So the other night my kids wanted to make there own dinner. They decided to make sandwiches. We never stepped foot in the kitchen they made them all by themselves. They savored every bite and just kept telling us that we would have to have one tomorrow because they were soooo delicious! Hannah did an awesome job and Kolton was satisfied with his cheese and mustard. The next day Hannah created a pepperoni, ham and chesse sandwich. She told me "See mom I can get up and make my lunch for school now"

Ty's sister got us free tickets to this new game show in vegas. It was pretty fun to get together with his sisters and mom for the night. It was at the Venetian and between all of us we ended up winning about $160.00 in food.(little did we know that gets you about 4 appetizers)

The kids are learning how to play tennis. They actually do pretty well. It's fun because we get to go out and spend time as a family having fun for cheap!!

Sooo we had our great freinds Josh and Jamie over for dinner tonight. I swear we can't be friends with them anymore. They just bring us to much bad luck! LOL Hannah and her boys were playing tag in the house and someone shut the light off in the kids room so Hannah got on her top bunk to turn it on... The picture shows what happend! Yes she has a matching cut on the other side now!! We just had to laugh about it this time. Twice in one week!

Coupon Shopping!!

A few weeks ago in our ward a lady showed us how to really coupon shop! I used to go to the store and save $7 and think I was doing good. So tonight I decided we needed to go to Walmart because there were some good deals that we needed to get(I really only shop once a week). Ty was to embarassed to come with me to the grocery part as I kept pulling out my Smith's add to compare prices so he took Kolton to the sports isles. I went to check out and Ty literally would not come to my line he went like 3 cashiers over to pay seperate for his stuff. We thought we would see who could come closest to a $100. I WON!! I totalled $100.43 and Ty was at $101. The only problem is look how much I got and yes how much Ty got. I swear I feel like all my savings went to his crap:) I saved $72.00 and didn't buy one generic brand. It can be done and it's sooo easy. You can take your grocery budget get good deals and then have extra money to spend on clothes or something fun.

Ty did have two magazines that aren't shown!

I had a small bag of dog food not shown that I got for only $.63!!

So on Monday night my friend Jamie invited us over for dinner. I had my two kids and nephew and she had her 4 boys. Well after them running in the house we had them go outside to play tag(now regretting). My nephew decided to throw a bat at Hannah so she wouldn't tag him and this is what she got! Luckily we have the best freinds in the world because there was sooo much blood. If any of you know me I was about ready to faint, so Jamie took her and got her all cleaned up. Josh had a guy he works with who does surgeries so Ty and him went down the next day to get it all done. They gave her some liguid Valum and we were going to Chili's after for a girls night out! It was pretty funny to see how determined she was that she could actually walk on her own. Ya it didn't happen.It doesn't look very deep in the pictures but it was bad! She told me tonight "Mom can I go get more stitches, that was fun"

I'M ADDICTED!!

So my new friend Jamie who has 4 boys and no girls taught me how to make bows! I am addicted to say the least. I can't walk into Walmart anymore without going over to the ribbon isle to make a new bow. She also taught me how to make these cool headbands that can be used for adults or kids.
